Our Journey in Educational Intervention in Rural Areas
Our Journey in Educational Intervention in Rural Areas
In its first five years, Learning Space Foundation expanded from its beginnings in Ganeshpuri to neighbouring villages such as Wada and Bhiwandi through a dedicated outreach programme. LSF recruited and trained educated local youth, equipping them to support children in areas where the traditional school system faced limitations. This community-driven approach helped strengthen learning environments and ensured continuity of support for rural students.
Over the next decade, LSF concentrated on developing a range of sustainable and child-centred learning models across early years, primary, and middle-school levels. Alongside academic programmes, the organisation worked extensively on improving school infrastructure—building and upgrading sanitation facilities, science laboratories, libraries, and computer labs across preschools, primary schools, and middle schools in the Thane district of Maharashtra.
Through these combined efforts, LSF contributed to enhancing both the quality of education and the overall learning ecosystem in rural and tribal communities.
