Early Child Development Center

Objective: To renovate and refurbish an abandoned room in Z P Chimbipada to serve as an Early Child Development Centre for children between 3 to 10 years old. The space is designed to improve early education through focus on motor skills, creative learning, cognitive skills, language and mathematics skills, technology and performance-based learning while working on the social and health development of the child. The foreseen impact of the centre is estimated to be 150 children at a time.

The ECD center can be useful in every village of India. A dilapidated classroom or space in the village is converted into a useful learning HUB - a multi- layered learning center meant for the growth and progress of the village children and community members. The ECD center at Chimbipada was inaugurated on the 9th of July, after a contemporary architectural design was implemented to transform the crumbling Zilla Parishad school classroom. It is funded and supported for regular courses by the Rotary Club of Bombay Pier. By the end of January 2022, educational programs were run for pre primary, primary and middle level students, as well as a special class for the 10th STD students of the village.

The center can also host vocational programs for youth and women in the village. The LSF team at the center is carrying out discussions with community members to select and run educational, livelihood and capacity building programs in the near future.
