JeevMitra Project

JeevMitra is an organic farming project for rural school children studying in the vicinity of Learning Space, in the village of Vajreshwari. Students from the 7th or 8th grade were exposed to a series of in-classroom instructions on organic farming followed by activities and site visits. A kitchen garden has been setup for hands-on demonstrations. As many students hail from a farming family, they can benefit from being taught modern organic farming techniques. The project encourages them to implement what they have learnt by replicating the gardens in their kitchens at home.
