We learned a lot from LSF

Mrs. Paramita Ghosh is an employee at Edelweiss Group, a charitable trust that provides funding for small, mid-level rural-based organizations such as LSF. The trust focuses on organizations that contribute to education, women’s empowerment, and building livelihoods. Through a comprehensive selection process, they identify organizations and perform a detailed audit process to ensure the organization will be able to make the best use of their funds.

       Paramita says that Learning Space Foundation is a strong addition to the Edelweiss education portfolio because of its team, which consists of local people. As a result, Learning Space Foundation has a very clear understanding of local issues, geography, people, and language. The LSF team is also very passionate about their work and are able to apply their knowledge to transform their own communities.

       “We learned a lot from LSF — the way Early Childhood Education can be,” Paramita told us. They were impressed with the possibilities LSF had uncovered in government schools, and how they were able to bring joy and education into village children’s lives. Edelweiss now helps LSF with operating costs and with a variety of projects, in order to help distribute education throughout rural India.
